Washington Area Informix User Group meeting
January 22, 2004
This was an exciting meeting with 45 plus members attending, with four presentations, all done by members of our user group.
- SQL Differences between Informix and DB2 - Bob Carts & Keith Gibert
Bob and Keith shared their experience with porting a large data warehouse from Informix to DB2. This had everyone's attention with their description of the differences and the problems that they ran into.
- Setting up Informix CSDK/ODBC - James Edmiston
James described the basics on how to install and connect up to an Informix database using ODBC and the Informix Client SDK.
- SQLCMD Tool, An enhanced Dbaccess - Joseph Kennedy
Joe did a presentation on SQLCMD Tool, Jonathan Leffler's improved version of dbaccess.
- Informix IDS Administration with the New Server Studio- Lester Knutsen
Lester shares his experience with the beta of Server Studio and the new Informix database monitoring options that will be available in its next release.
