SESSION: Architectures of the Future - How to Manage Rich Data Types
SPEAKER: Martin Terwilliger, President
FuGEN Technologies Phone: 301.230.1551
6001 Montrose Road, Suite 640 Fax: 301.230.2903

Current database architectures allow one dimensional data to be stored and managed by the database. Other types of data, including pictures, text, video, images, and sound must be stored in a separate proprietary database, making it difficult to integrate and retrieve the information in a usable format. New database architectures will allow diverse, rich data types to be stores and managed from a single source. Users will be able to retrieve all related information from a single query, display timelines of events, and view data in formats previously unavailable. This architecture will revolutionize the design, development and management of corporate databases.

Mr. Terwilliger is president of FuGEN Technologies, a consulting company focusing on Informix DBMS, imaging and text retrieval, GUI development environments, and networking in open systems. Mr. Terwilliger has a B.S. in Engineering from Oregon State University, and over 15 years experience in all phases of system and database design, development, integration and system administration.
